Job Description
LDC’s plant protein business unit R&D group is looking for an Analytical Research Assistant / to work with the R&D team on analysis of plant proteins, its composition, functional characterization with various assays and analytical methods
Main responsibilities:
- Understand and execute analytical tests as directed and as laid out in standard operating procedures of plant proteins, starch, fibers, and oils and various micro analytes.
- Perform physicochemical and functional analysis of food materials and products.
- Ensure all the results are reported in quality and timely manner.
- Maintain and carry out basic troubleshooting of all analytical instruments.
- Keep order and hygiene in all areas.
- Practice LDC’s safety standards at all times.
Qualifications
Role requirements:
- A genuine desire to work in plant-based ingredients and food space.
- Capacity to work independently within defined experimental frame.
- Basic laboratory experience. Knowledge in protein chemistry is a plus.
- Problem-solving, time-management and organizational skills.
- Adaptability and accountability.
- Critical thinking and attention to detail.
- Analytical mindset with proven ability to gather, interpret and synthesize large volumes of data.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as an individual or collaborate as part of a team.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or associate degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, food science, or relevant field.
- 2+ years of experience in the lab work is preferred but not required
