We are looking for intellectually curious team players with strong quantitative skills to join our International Arbitration – Infrastructure practice in Rome. From day one as a Research Analyst (RA), you will participate in project teams with senior consulting staff and leading industry experts, analysing complex matters such as regulatory modelling and design of regulation, market due diligences in the infrastructure and energy fields and varied infrastructure related projects.

Experts at The Brattle Group have extensive experience advising infrastructure investors, operators, and regulators across the energy, transportation, telecom, water, and waste sectors. They have published widely on subjects ranging from demand forecasting techniques to finance and marketing and have presented papers at conferences in the US, Europe, and Australia. A typical day for Brattle RAs includes:

  • Combining economic theory and industry knowledge to solve real problems
  • Diving into data, using statistical analyses to extract information from messy data
  • Constructing models from a blend of theoretical concepts to answer complex questions
  • Reviewing literature and industry trends to understand the debate around key developments
  • Review regulatory decisions and deeply analyse current and future regulatory trends in Italy and in Europe;
  • Analysing companies and markets; understand, perform, and supervise statistical/econometric analysis and estimate cost of capital

An ideal Brattle RA has:

  • A Master's degree in economics, finance, accounting or other quantitative subjects 
  • Exceptional analytical skills (preferably data analysis experience using software such as Excel, R or Stata)
  • Experience working in teams, a passion for creative problem-solving, and the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively
  • Fluency in English and Italian is essential, fluency in other European languages is a plus.
