WHAT IS ECONOMIC CONSULTING?

RESEARCH ANALYST INTERN – COMPETITION
We are seeking an intellectually curious team player with strong quantitative and analytical skills to join our Rome office as a Research Analyst Intern for a fixed-term contract (FTC) of initially 3 months. This internship will support our Competition practice, where you will collaborate closely with senior consulting staff and leading industry experts on high-profile cases.
About the Role
As a Research Analyst Intern, you will play an integral role in project teams, contributing to complex economic and financial analyses related to competition matters. You will gain hands-on experience in economic consulting and develop practical skills in data analysis, modelling, and research.
Typical Responsibilities
- Assisting in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other client deliverables.
- Conducting quantitative and qualitative research to support expert analysis in competition cases.
- Applying economic modelling techniques to address real-world challenges.
- Using software (such as Stata, R, Python, or Excel) to analyse datasets and extract meaningful insights.
- Reviewing and summarising academic literature and industry trends to contextualise findings.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Will have completed a master’s degree in economics or a quantitative discipline with strong academic performance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data.
- Basic experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, Stata, R, or Python
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Italian (fluency in another European language is a plus).
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
