In this role, you will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and support of critical business intelligence applications, including Tableau Server, Tableau Online, Tableau Bridge, and Interworks Curator. You will ensure these tools run efficiently and securely, enabling the organization to make data-driven decisions with high-quality, reliable reporting and analytics.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in application administration, SQL skills, and a deep understanding of business intelligence platforms. You will work closely with the data warehouse, IT, and business intelligence teams to provide seamless application performance, implement system upgrades, handle troubleshooting, and support users across the organization. Your efforts will directly contribute to the success of data-driven strategies and operational efficiencies within the company.

Job Description

Duties/Responsibilities

Tableau Server Administration

  • User Management

    • Create & Manage user accounts

    • Assign Permissions

    • Manage user groups

  • Site Administration

    • Setting up and managing tableau sites with appropriate configurations and permissions.

    • Monitoring site activity and usage statistics.

  • Data Source Management

    • Managing data connections and data sources.

    • Optimizing data refreshes and data extract processes.

  • Content Management

    • Monitoring and managing published workbooks, dashboards, and data sources.

    • Implementing content governance policies to ensure data accuracy and consistency.

  • Security Management

    • Managing & implementing robust security measures to protect sensitive data.

    • Manage user authentication & authorization settings. (SAML)

  • Backup & Recovery

    • Performing and managing regular backups of Tableau Server Data & Configuration.

      • Maintaining automation scripts we have in place to also do the same.

    • Implementing, updating and maintaining disaster recovery plans to ensure data availability.

  • Software Updates & Upgrades

    • Ensuring proper testing of new server releases as well as staying up to date on Tableau Server’s new features and capabilities.

  • Collaboration & Support

    • Provide troubleshooting techniques to front end users.

    • Support other members of the team with implementation of the above.

  • Documentation

    • Keep existing documentation up to date while also creating new documentation in the same voice as other documentation pieces created.

Tableau Online Administration

  • User Management

Tableau Bridge Administration

  • Bridge Deployment & Configuration

    • Install & configure bridge clients on appropriate servers.

    • Setup connections and refresh schedules for clients.

    • Manage connection pools and load balancing for optimal data refresh performance.

    • Configure security settings

      • Authentication

      • Access

  • Documentation

    • Keep existing documentation up to date while also creating new documentation in the same voice as other documentation pieces created.

Curator by Interworks Administration

  • Platform Setup and Configuration

    • Installing and configuring the Curator platform.

    • Connect to multiple data connections.

    • Setup proper authentication

  • Content Management

    • Setting up dashboards

    • Setup themes

    • Setup Central Dispatch Layouts

    • Create custom landing pages and site layouts.

  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting

    • Monitor system performance and identify potential issues.

    • Troubleshoot technical problems related to data connectivity, user access and platform functionality.

  • Collaboration & Support

    • Be a technical bridge member between Business Analysts, the business, and developers on understanding the platform.

  • Documentation

    • Keep existing documentation up to date while also creating new documentation in the same voice as other documentation pieces created.

SQL Server Development

  • Manage and maintain Reporting & Analytic owned views & Tables

  • Manage and maintain Reporting & Analytics Security Model

  • Work closely with the Data Team on improvement suggestions for optimization of views.

Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements

  • Degree Computer Science, Data, Mathematics, Statistics, or Business Analytics or a related field or equivalent work experience is required

  • 3+ years of related experience required

  • Strong knowledge in Tableau Server administration, Tableau Bridge Administration, Curator Interworks, SQL Databases (SQL Server, MySQL)

Knowledge Skills, and Abilities

  • Superior skills in Microsoft Suite and BI Tools(e.g., Tableau, Power BI, etc)

  • Strong SQL Skills

  • Analytical thinking

  • Problem-Solving Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills

  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
