Smith+Nephew is hiring a Reporting Accountant Specialist in Greece.
The Reporting Accountant Specialist ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with IFRS and local regulations, and strong internal controls. This role is key in supporting statutory, tax, and transfer pricing compliance while driving process improvements and financial integrity.
What you will be doing?

Ensure compliance with IFRS, local statutory regulations, and internal financial policies.

Deliver high-quality, accurate financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Perform variance analysis and lead balance sheet and P&L reviews with stakeholders.

Support budgeting and forecasting cycles using Hyperion and ERP systems.

Manage statutory audits and support internal and external audit processes.

Oversee tax compliance, including filings and payments, in collaboration with the tax team.

Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce compliance risk.

Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
What will you need to be successful?

Education – Qualified/Certified Accountant (ICAEW, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent). Preferred A' Class Signatory right.

Experience – 5+ years in global accounting practice or industry, with strong IFRS and financial reporting expertise.

Experience with tax filing, including VAT and withholding tax, as well as Intra-stat reporting. Familiarity with the MyData portal and ensuring accurate tax reporting. Proven ability to manage communication with tax authorities and stay informed on recent tax law changes in Greece and their impact on compliance.

Languages – Fluency in English and Greek (min C1).

Skills – Strong technical accounting knowledge, financial data analysis, internal controls, and stakeholder management.

Nice to have – Experience in medical devices or pharmaceuticals, Pylon system knowledge, Hyperion HFM proficiency, SOX control frameworks, and working with third-party financial service providers.
