PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Sr. Billing Support Specialist provides high level support of the assigned function(s) by performing various analytical and project activities. The incumbent is responsible for supporting operations to ensure maximum efficacy and efficiency within the assigned function(s).

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide high level assistance in the management of applicable processes within the assigned function(s).
  • Provide active support of business implementations, billing clearinghouses.
  • Generate and distribute diverse reports for management review on a routine basis.
  • Review current policies and procedures within the assigned function(s) with a focus on continue improvement efforts; providing recommendations for improvement as necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-divisional teams to facilitate revenue cycle initiatives within the assigned function(s); serving as a point of contact as necessary.
  • Mentor other staff as applicable.
  • Assist with various projects as assigned by a direct supervisor.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced Degree desirable

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 5 - 8 years' related experience; or a Master's degree with 3 years' experience; or a PhD without experience.
  • Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database and email applications.
  • Advanced proficiency with business warehouse (BW), billing and financial systems (e.g., MDP Billing, SAP Business Warehouse, Hyperion, SAP, etc.).
  • Strong working knowledge of general accounting and revenue cycles.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask concurrent priorities in an organized manner.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
