ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are searching for a Reliability and Performance Engineer to be responsible for organizing and guaranteeing the execution of performance (OEE) and maintenance plans with the objective of increasing the availability, safety, and reliability of the equipment.
In this exciting and impactful role, you will lead installation of new machinery as well as other development projects. You will be responsible for improvement initiatives across Greif’s EMEA plastic facilities.

This role can be based near any of our plastics facilities in South Africa, Italy or France.
TYPICAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Work with Product and Process managers and Quality to deploy a complete VQS on each equipment (Work instructions, product characteristics, autonomous and preventive maintenance).
- Support maintenance managers/leaders to keep the plant assets in optimum working condition through preventive and predictive maintenance plans and planned correctives
- Train maintenance leaders on the perfect use of CMMS and develop technical training, matrix and materials for plant maintenance teams.
- Support in the hiring of new technical professionals helping to define the professional profile and interviews.
- Monitor the implementation of new equipment, with maintenance plans involving all plant technicians.
- Justify new investments, and together with project engineers, develop a road map for equipment’s update, refurbishment, and substitution.
- Promote improvements in equipment performance through Kaizen in conjunction with OPEX, Product and Process manager and plant maintenance teams.
- Support project and Product and Process managers in the implementation of automation in production processes with an emphasis on productivity gains and optimization of labor, seeking new technologies and replicating them in other plants.
- Implementation of 5's in technical areas together with OPEX;
- Motivate and form a competitive team of maintenance leaders through leadership training, technical people exchange, coaching and clear communication.
- Increase the number of technicians able to program PLC's and promote their updating, standardizing knowledge in software and hardware.
- Replicate lessons learned, standard maintenance practices, standardize equipment, increasing the synergies across the substrate to have all plants in the same level.
- Coordinate, organize, and maintain the critical spare part program amongst all substrate facilities.
- Collaborate cross substrate with Reliability Engineers on tools, programs, and strategy execution.
- Partner with Global Operations Group in the areas of OPEX and equipment reliability.
- Work collaboratively with Site Maintenance to establish a Critical Process Equipment (CPE) Program to ensure all CPE items are audited and well-maintained.
- Work closely with OPEX and other support functions to drive A3 continuous improvement projects.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, MBA an advantage
- 5+ years of experience with blow molding techniques
- Experience with manufacturing maintenance departments
- Able to manage and influence others while collaborating remotely
- Availability to travel across EMEA
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, eMaint an advantage
- Written and spoken fluency in English required
