Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity available for a Regulatory Affairs Manager in Italy.
The position is based in Milan, where you will be working in an impactful team, alongside stakeholders that are always trying to reach the next level. You will be part of the Legal, Government and Regulatory Affairs department, reporting to the European Regulatory team based in UK.
The purpose of the role is:

  • To ensure all product labels used by Kraft Heinz in Europe comply with food legislation, government guidelines and company policies with a special focus on Infant Feeding products, Foods for Medical Purposes and Food Supplements.
  • To ensure ingredients and product specifications are compliant and support other requests for information relating to labelling, consumer queries etc.
  • Support with submissions & notifications to the Italian authorities for infant formula, foods for medical purposes and food supplements.
  • Support legal, marketing and medical teams to achieve compliant and accurate communications for advertising content (e.g. web content and on-line retail platforms.)
  • Work with the Research & Development, Marketing, Supply Chain and Legal team in the delivery of local innovation and renovation projects to ensure compliant products on the market.
  • Represent the company as a regulatory expert at external meetings with trade bodies and other external bodies.
  • To develop an awareness of EU and Italian food legislation and government guidance internally
  • To provide information, advice on legislation and assess potential risks for product formulation and labelling issues


Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the Italian Regulatory team, currently consisting of one direct report, responsible for compliance of Infant Feeding, Foods for Medical Purposes and Food Supplements.
  • Work closely with the EU Regulatory Affairs team to maintain a proactive awareness of forthcoming changes to Italian and EU legislation and provide updates to stakeholders across the business
  • Take part in project meetings from kick-off to the launch stage. To support the business in the provision of labelling and claims information relating to products sold in Europe
  • Develop relevant knowledge of Kraft Heinz business processes, products, policies and relevant legislation.
  • Assess regulatory and business needs and ensure policies and procedures are kept up to date to support the business.


Qualifications

  • University Degree in scientific field
  • At least 5+ years' working experience within regulatory, ideally within FMCG
  • Deep knowledge of the European Food legislation, ideally in Infant, Medical or Food Supplements
  • Strong proficiency in Italian and English is mandatory
  • EU Working Permit (Orientation Year Visa not included) is necessary to proceed for this position.

What will make you successful?
To be successful in this role you will have extensive food regulatory experience in infant feeding, foods for medical purposes or food supplements and will have worked in a similar role previously. You will be a self-starter with great attention to detail and excellent analytical skills. You will have great communication and influencing skills which will enable you to influence and positively challenge stakeholders across the business. You should ideally have experience of managing a team and be confident in delegating work.
