The Role

The Regional Senior Project Manager (RSPM) will report directly to the Regional General Manager and be responsible for building a high performing Project Management Team. This individual will have an extensive working knowledge of all aspects of the HVACR industry with a track record of successful On-Time completions of highly valued, complex Installation and Replacement Projects. This individual is responsible for the end-to-end process of surveying, quote collaboration with Client Team, and executing any awarded Project from our Clients. Additionally, the RSPM is responsible for the overall P&L of the Projects Team, ensuring budgeted revenues and costs are met or exceeded.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING:

  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of regional field projects, from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality & safety standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client projects team, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders regarding project progress, requirements, and specifications.
  • Plan and schedule project activities, including resource allocation, manpower requirements, equipment procurement, subcontractor coordination, permitting, crane or lift scheduling, and final inspection.
  • Coordinate site visits and inspections to assess project feasibility, identify potential risks, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including scope of work, schedules, budgets, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures, tracking costs and expenses on the job (WO) to ensure adherence to financial targets and profitability goals.
  • Lead project meetings with internal teams and external partners to review project status, address issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage project scope changes, assess their impact on timeline and budget, and communicate effectively with stakeholders to reach consensus on adjustments.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams as necessary to review project plans and specifications, provide input on constructability and value engineering, and resolve technical issues.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in project management workflows, tools, and methodologies.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and professionalism among project teams, promoting adherence to company policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to project team members, fostering their professional development and growth within the organization.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Proven experience in project management roles within the HVACR or similar operations-focused industry, with a track record of successfully delivering field projects on time and within budget.
  • Ability to forecast and execute against monthly, quarterly, and annual Financials, and be able to determine, communicate, and adjust to any notable shortages or gaps between forecasted and actual line items. Ability to ensure quoted work consistently meets minimum revenue and margin goals.
  • Preferred: knowledge of HVACR systems, equipment, and installation practices, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, subcontractors, and team members at all levels.
  • Proficient in project management oversight tools and MS Office applications (Word, Excel/Smartsheets, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and inspire project teams to achieve project objectives and exceed client expectations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands in a dynamic work environment.
  • Commitment to upholding safety standards, quality assurance practices, and ethical conduct in all aspects of project execution.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to HVACR projects (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, building codes).


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 5 Years of HVACR Industry Experience or Operations equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 Years leading high performing teams with at least 4 direct reports 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to work in all weather types outdoors.
  • Must be able to physically push/pull/lift up to 49 lbs without assistance.


Helios determines compensation based on the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $100,000 - $120,000 with bonus potential. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
