As the Regional Sales Manager in New Zealand for General Motors Specialty Vehicles (GMSV), you'll be joining the broader General Motors Australia & New Zealand (GM ANZ) team. Your purpose is to develop a strong and active partnership with the dealer network which fosters and embraces GM's One Team priority. You will work to improve customer retention and provide vehicle distribution support for the NZ dealer network while achieving volume and market share targets. Region of responsibility is currently New Zealand and Regional Queensland Australia.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop retail sales and marketing strategies to ensure the attainment of monthly, quarterly and annual vehicles and accessories volume targets
  • Work with Dealers to develop Sales Lead Generation plans with the view to achieve sales objectives.
  • Work with Dealers to develop Customer Loyalty Generation plans with the view to achieve GMSV's guiding principles.
  • Work with Dealers to identify key events in their local area, to attend and promote the Dealership/GMSV brand.
  • Ensure that wholesale target is achieved through completion of regular allotment communication
  • Provide Distribution support as required to the NZ Dealer network and NZ Distribution Coordinator
  • Actively monitor and manage the performance of each Dealer against Dealer Performance Scorecard KPI's, supported by regular meetings and development of recovery plans
  • Play a lead role with implementation of the Performance Review, Focus and Critical Care Process to manage poor performing Dealers
  • Maintain regular contact and communication with Dealers in the designated region, ensuring all Dealers are fully abreast of all current issues and programs.
  • Collaborate with Head Office teams to facilitate the implementation of all strategies impacting the Dealer Network.
  • Ensure GMSV Dealer Agreement, DPPM and Sales and Marketing policies and procedures are adhered to, implemented and followed to the expected level
  • Provide the GMANZ Marketing team with local press and media support, including the management of local press vehicles as well as supporting local marketing activations.


This is a full time, ongoing position.

About you
You have at least 5 years' experience in zone or region Sales, and/or Aftersales operations or equivalent central office experience, and you have had experience in supervision of mid-level or higher managers in automotive related activities. Whilst having a broad knowledge of our company policies, procedures and overall objectives.

Education: Tertiary business-related discipline are considered highly desirable, for example Commerce or Marketing.
