Position Overview

The Regional Sales Director’s primary function is to guide the regional sales team to the attainment of its sales and KPI goals; and to assist team members with reaching their personal and professional goals through coaching motivation and development.

  • Work in conjunction with management team to develop and implement a plan for sales growth and profitability.
  • Manage performance of regional sales team.
  • Coordinate ongoing training and development of staff.
  • Define clearly the role and expectations of the assigned representatives in line with the overall company plan/mission.
  • Hire high impact sales professionals and manage them through initial on-boarding and training program.
  • Assess current skill levels to design tools to allow sales representatives to reach their goals.
  • Teach and develop skill sets to assist representatives in reaching maximum potential.
  • Assist sales team in identifying and developing the business within the available accounts in their territories.
  • Establish procedures within region for handling account negotiations.
  • Establish channels of communication so that representatives are informed of company initiatives, as well as informing the management team of all pertinent sales information.
  • Monitor and effectively manage regional expenditures.
  • Assist senior management in identifying and developing future management candidates.
  • Cultivate relationships with current top accounts and high potential accounts.
  • Achieve net hearing instrument sales quota on both a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Complete appropriate sales and corporate reporting requirements in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain proper professional standards of behavior and decorum as a representative of the company when communicating with customers, coworkers and representing GN Resound at national, regional and state professional meetings.
  • Perform other duties as requested and / or as needed to fulfill the purpose of the position.

Competencies (Knowledge and Skills needed for this position.)

  • Superior computer skills.
  • A thorough understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and platform presentation skills.
  • Follow the HR policy including all company and department policies and procedures. 
  • Meet all performance and behavior expectations outlined in the company performance appraisal and / or communicated by management. 
  • Perform responsibilities as directed achieving desired results within expected time frames and with a high degree of quality and professionalism.
  • Follow good safety practices in all activities. 
  • Establish and maintain positive and productive work relationships with all staff, customers and business partners.
  • Demonstrate the behavioral and technical competencies necessary to effectively complete position responsibilities.  Take personal initiative for technical and professional development.
  • Safeguard sensitive and confidential Company information.

Desired Qualifications

Required Education:

 Minimum 4-year college degree

Experience:

A minimum of 8 years successful territory sales experience; preferably with increasing level of complexity and expertise. Minimum of 4 years tangible goods sales, preferable medical devices. Sales management experience preferred, but not required if experience includes management development.

Travel:

Extensive Travel - Ability to travel up to 75%

Total annual compensation for this position includes a competitive base pay, along with performance-based commissions that reward you for your contributions to the company’s success.  Depending on your work location, the annual base pay for this position may range from $120,000 to $130,000 and the total annual compensation, including at-plan commissions, may be around $240,000-260,000.  Compensation for roles at GN depend on a wide array of factors including but not limited to location, role, skill set, and level of experience.  To remain competitive, GN offers a competitive benefits package, including annual bonuses, health insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off and paid holidays.

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 15lbs at a time, sitting, walking, standing

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: Salaried position, Monday – Friday but may have evening requirements at times.
