A Day in the Life

At Medtronic, the ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) Regional Sales Director leads the region to achieve sales and growth goals for the full ENT product portfolio. This position will develop and implement annual and quarterly plans that meet revenue and profitability goals for the business.  This leader manages a team of District Sales Managers and reports in to the VP of U.S. Sales for ENT. The Director is also responsible for hiring, developing, and evaluating field personnel in their region. 

This is a field based role that will be located in the Western Region of the United States and in close proximity to a major airport to access the entire region.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: 

  • Promotes and sells Medtronic's ENT products and services within an assigned geographic area and /or specific customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets. 

  • Responsible for developing, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders including physicians and key opinion leaders.

  • Key member of the US Field Sales Leadership Team.                      

  • Develops regional annual sales plans to meet revenue, profitability, and growth goals.                                                                                              

  • Proactively identifies changes in health care, delivery systems, reimbursements, and competitive pressures. Work with appropriate marketing, payer and clinical staff to implement tactics to address issues. 

  • Recruits, hires and develops field personnel for the region. 

  • Provides ongoing coaching and feedback to District Managers and support staff through field visits, observation, and measurement of results. 

  • Ensures all sales and marketing programs are implemented in the region and provide direction to appropriate people for new product launches, sales contests, etc. 

  • Provides performance and salary reviews for direct regional field personnel. 

  • Recommends policy changes for the field and ensure adherence to Medtronic corporate operating policies. 

  • Participates in the development of field compensation and award programs. Review programs with District Managers. 

  •  Determines appropriate contact for new and existing KOLs and ensure programs with KOLs are implemented. 

  •  Effectively monitors and controls expenses for the region. 

  • Ensures the quality and compliance policies are understood, implemented and maintained by within the region. 

  • Develops and/or implements market development plans/strategies and changes as needed. 

  •  Assesses customer needs and feedback regarding new products and/or modifications to existing products and communicates to internal stakeholders including R&D, Operations and Marketing. 

  •  Establishes effective relationships and collaborates with other departments (Marketing, Finance, HR, Sales Training, etc.) to address key business issues and opportunities.

Qualifications
Must Have: Minimum Requirements 
To be considered for this role, please ensure these minimum requirements are evident on your applicant profile.

  • A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant sales experience; or 

  • An advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant sales experience 

Nice to Have: Preferences 

  • MBA and multi-product and therapy sales management experience (Capital, disposables, pharma etc.)

  • Director level experience (overseeing managers) 

  • ENT product portfolio knowledge

*** Preference will be given to candidates with Medtronic experience

Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy.  In addition, your driving record will be reviewed and will be considered as part of your application. Must be able to drive approximately 50% of the time within assigned territory and may require overnight travel.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):170,000-170,000

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals. Learn more about total rewards here.

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
