Job Description
1. Operate glycerin refinery plant operation through a Distributed Control System (DCS) to maintain production targets and efficiency. Monitor process parameters, alarms, and equipment status, adjusting operations as needed to ensure optimal performance.
2. Identify deviations from normal operating conditions and take corrective actions.
3. Record process data and maintain logs of equipment performance, production rates, and product quality.
4. Prepare daily production reports to supervisor.
5. Guide and support field operators, providing on-the-job training and sharing best practices.
6. Lead over-shift meetings to ensure smooth handover of operations between shifts. Communicate key process updates, ongoing tasks, and any critical issues to the incoming shift team.
7. Determine and adjust chemical dosing and utility usage according to production requirements. Communicate with the utility department regarding utility needs such as steam, water, and power to meet production demands.
8. Coordinate with the quality department to ensure that product quality specifications are met, addressing any quality-related issues promptly.
9. Work closely with the maintenance team during plant shut-downs and turn-arounds for major maintenance activities. Ensure that maintenance tasks are coordinated effectively to minimize downtime and ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
10. Ensure adherence to safety standards, including proper handling of hazardous chemicals and adherence to plant safety protocols. Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Min D3 in the fields of Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Agricultural Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience as senior operator or 5 years working experience as field operator directly handling the glycerin refinery plant.
- Strong experience in process automation systems, preferably DCS, SCADA, or PLCs.
- Basic skill in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of glycerin refinery process, maintenance, and safety regulations.
- Demonstrate experience in troubleshooting and possess knowledge concerning various types of pumps and essential equipment within the Refining Glycerin Plant.
- Understand the operation of Chiller, Cooling Tower systems, blow molding and packaging machine.
