Primary Function:

  • Perform internal audits of various departments within Recovery to ensure adherence to Company Policy and Procedures by defining the sample, analyzing the data, summarizing results, suggesting resolution and, if appropriate, assisting with implementation and follow up.
  • Perform both scheduled and unscheduled audits of various groups within the department, based on business needs.
  • Work on special projects as directed by Management.

Principal Duties:

  • Perform internal audits within the Recovery department to ensure adherence to state and federal laws and regulations, internal policy and procedures, and client protocols.
  • Assess quality of work within the department by ensuring the appropriate course of action was taken.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of Recovery policies and procedures
  • Work on special projects as directed including but not limited to reviewing Recovery audits, business processes and procedures, company Policies and Procedures and Alerts to ensure accuracy

Education:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred, but not required

 

Experience:

  • Previous Audit experience preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in mortgage servicing, preferably in collections
  • Knowledge of general mortgage collection processes
  • Knowledge of mortgage servicing regulations, such as FDCPA and CFPB

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze information and business processes
  • Self-Motivated with strong attention to detail and excellent organizing skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products, such as Word and Excel
