Receptionist/Administrator

We are looking for a Receptionist/Administrator for the Essential Services Team department at Sartorius. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, visitors and team members. Your role is crucial in ensuring smooth daily operations of reception and providing exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for administrative tasks, take phone calls, prepare meeting rooms, as well as provide support to the Health and Safety and facilities team with various tasks and duties.

The team consists of 5 professionals, and we are looking forward to shaping the future with you.  

This position is a full – time, permanent role and based on site in Royston. The site is 10 minutes’ walk from the train station and just the A505 so it’s easy to get to.

Grow with us – Your Responsibilities  

  • On a daily basis you will perform general office duties, including filing, answering incoming calls, greeting visitors and ordering office supplies, ordering and managing lunches for meetings and visitors

  • Create a welcoming environment in the visitors' reception area and maintain a tidy and comfortable working environment

  • Deal efficiently and effectively with incoming calls

  • Act as a liaison between employees and the Human Resources team to report employee absence

  • Procure and administrate stationery and office supplies

  • Execute key clerical activities including recording of receipts for raw material purchases, and assisting in forwarding invoices to the Finance Department

  • Organize key office functions and events as needed to support the needs of the business

  • Administrate and book external couriers and local transport services

  • Administrate information display in the reception area

  • Assist in some facilities and health and safety administration, such as updating notice board, maintain health and safety training files, carry out spot checks, check all fire extinguishers

What will convince us 

  • Experience as a receptionist, front office or customer facing roles with administrative duties

  • Confident user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, attention to detail

  • Approachable and able to maintain and positive and friendly attitude

  • Flexibility

  • Reliability

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
