Our founders Maarten and Dimitri started Loop back with a big idea. And a chronic ringing in their ears. Since then, we’ve helped more than 3,500,000 customers around the world to find quiet, enjoy great experiences and keep unwanted noise at bay.
In 2023 we grew from almost 100 Loopers to over 250 people. And that’s a number we would have to keep updating every month, as we are planning to double the team once again, this year.
Our headquarters are based in Antwerp, but with hubs in Amsterdam, Shanghai, and New York, we’re dotted all over the globe.
Not to brag about it, but we’ve recently won the EY Scale up of the year award, the Deloitte Fast50 award (for the second year in a row) and a couple of other amazing (international) prices. The New York Times named us ‘best earplugs for concerts’ and thousands of noise-sensitive customers call us a ‘life changer’.

As R&D Funding Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in advancing Loop’s mission by securing the resources to drive our innovations. Your expertise will enable us to explore new frontiers in sound technology, empowering millions to enhance their everyday experiences.
Lead the Charge in R&D Funding
As the R&D Funding Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of identifying and securing grants, subsidies, and partnerships on local, national, and global scales. You’ll craft and manage funding applications, ensuring they align seamlessly with our R&D goals and the rigorous requirements of funding bodies. In collaboration with our R&D and finance teams, you’ll ensure every resource is maximized for strategic impact. You'll also nurture relationships with key stakeholders, positioning Loop as a leader in hearable innovation.
Your other responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of funding applications, from research to compliance reporting.
- Build and maintain partnerships with funding agencies, government bodies, and other stakeholders.
- Partner with internal teams to optimize resource allocation and project funding strategies.
How You’ll Succeed as an R&D Funding Manager
Success in this role requires strategic thinking, exceptional communication, and a proactive approach to building relationships. Your expertise in R&D funding and financial management will keep applications competitive and compliant. Clear reporting and collaboration across departments will ensure alignment with Loop’s high standards for innovation and impact.
To excel in this position, familiarity with the technical complexity of R&D projects, how they are set up, the timelines involved, and managing diverse stakeholders, is essential. This understanding will allow you to craft funding strategies that resonate with both internal teams and funding bodies.
These key competences will set you up for success:
- Strong knowledge of R&D funding processes in Flanders, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the EU (experience with US funding is a plus).
- Expertise in grant writing, project management, and compliance.
- Financial acumen with a track record in budgeting and reporting.
- Exceptional networking skills to build lasting connections with internal and external partners.
