About the role:

The Category Manager will support sales, customer marketing managers and marketing with detailed business-, category- and market analysis by means of gathering internal and external data from a wide range of sources to drive commercial insight and category growth. This role reports to the Category & Customer Marketing Lead Benelux, part of Commercial Excellence, our sales brain. The start date by mid-February and will be a 8-month assignment. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Scope will be the Oral Category for Belgium Mass Market.
  • Perform detailed analysis, follow up on commercial KPIs and comment on the commercial performance versus plan, overlooking external market information and other relevant information.
  • Deliver world-class strategic commercial solutions along the shopper journey by committing to unleash customers, shoppers, expert insights, and planning to achieve an optimal shelf presentation in store.
  • Translate brand plans, retail knowledge, shopper & customer insights into commercial plans to drive sales.
  • Analyze market data information and share within organization (dashboards, launch trackers). 
  • Define investment strategy across channels and customers in collaboration with sales.
  • Evaluate key promotional effectiveness of activities and build on best practices & learnings.
  • Ensure effective execution of promotional calendar together with Customer Marketing Manager.
  • Sparring partner for key account manager for promotional effectiveness, G2N and shelf presentation
  • Support in joint business planning / business partnerships
  • Lead Category Management projects based on shopper insights and retail analyzes.
  • Ensures right distribution and shelf presentation of Haleon product assortment on shelf.
  • Finding new ways to drive category growth with key retailers.
  • Follows international and local category trends and insights.
  • Lead shopper research to collect relevant shopper insights.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Relevant academic curriculum in business management, marketing, or any other relevant area.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch or French
  • Category Management experience in a large, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with focus on execution excellence.
