Job Description
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supports and oversees day-to-day activities related to R2R stream - GL accounting, reporting/systems, intercompany, fixed assets, audits, etc.; Oversees month-end closing activities (accruals/provisions, group and statutory reporting, account reconciliations etc.);
- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert for related reporting policies and processes. Interacts proactively within FRA and BUs to ensure accurate reporting and tax accounting.
- Assess BUs significant transactions; run balance sheet reconciliations of allocated accounts and ensure timely resolution and clean-up of overdue items identified.
- Review all changes to current policies, processes, and procedures for the functional area before final approval
- Review and assess the tax provisions in the contracts concluded with the suppliers and the clients to minimize any additional tax exposures that may arise; analysis and monitors the existence of back up documentation for sustaining the treatment of profit tax, VAT, WHT, etc.
- Prepare/review SAF_T reports on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis; prepares deferred tax computation and is involved in preparing the VAT tax returns, corporate income tax.
- Proactively identify and resolve reporting and tax accounting related issues and disputes, escalate as required or coordinate with various departments to find the best solutions
- Give assistance to the financial department colleagues in assessing the booking and fiscal treatment of different business operations, developed by the company, based on which they would perform their accounting entries and ask for necessary information in order to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the fiscal documentations and ensure that the related taxes (VAT, WHT, corporate tax, etc) are computed as per the provisions of the fiscal legislation.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- University level degree in Business Administration/ Economics/Finance or Chartered Accountant
- English – advanced
- Previous experience in Finance/ Accounting in a multinational company: minimum 7 years;
- experienced in an accounting or finance management position either gained as an in-house Senior Reporting Accountant/Senior Tax Accountant/ Accounting Manager or BIG4
- Researching and understanding tax laws
- Excellent understanding of the end-to-end accounting and reporting processes, under IFRS and RAS
- Very good SAP knowledge.
- Good people skills
