The Quality Specialist assists in our foundational quality and food safety systems. The individual will work closely with internal business partners including but not limited to Quality, Operations, and Safety team members. The individual is responsible to ensure ongoing compliance to internal and external policies, procedures, SOPs. Reports to Site Quality Assurance Manager.
• Managing laboratory consumable stocks
• Coordination of testing to external party labs
• Oversees the timely release of finished goods and raw materials
• Retention sample management
• Reviews (as applicable) daily quality paperwork (deviation reports, general statements, sanitation inspections, supplier COQ’s, etc.)
• Management of Controlled Document for Quality
• Participates in EHSQS programs and activities
• Realization of special Food Safety/ Micro or quality Control assignments
• HACCP/Food Safety Team member
• Actively participate in GMP and warehouse inspections
Skills / Knowledge:
• Excellent computer skills
• A working knowledge of SAP and quality programs is preferred
• Excellent organizational skills
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, Food Processing, or comparable degree preferred.
• Previous lab experience (chemical and microbiological) in a quality environment
