The Quality Manager plans and manages activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality management system (QMS) for manufacturing and finishing processes, materials, and products.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage, train, provide performance feedback and assign duties of direct reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Develop quality control plans for new product development and introduction and manage the quality assurance aspects of current product adhering to company policies.
- Lead team responsible for analyzing defect data and implementing improvement initiatives to ensure quality. And reduce costs.
- Manage and coordinate activities associated with development and implementation of quality system elements.
- Provide oversight of the manufacture of products through product and process audits to ensure that engineering documentation and standards are consistent with manufacturing methods used to produce the products.
- Initiate, follow-up on, and close pending Preventive and Corrective Action reports including leading/supporting investigation and response by cross functional team members.
- Support the QMS to meeting specifications within the Management Operating System (MOS).
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or related field.
- 3 years quality field experience including management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in ISO based or equivalent quality systems.
- Fundamental knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma processes.
- Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.
- Demonstrated successful ability to prioritize and multi-task various and conflicting responsibilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- MBA.
- Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes and/or Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certification or comparable problem solving certification.
- Quality Auditor certification (ASQ CQA), Quality Engineer certification (ASQ CQE), or Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence certification (ASQ CQMOE).
