The Quality Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating quality control activities within the FieldTurf facility. This role ensures that all products meet established quality standards and specifications through effective leadership, inspection, testing, and documentation. The Quality Lead provides guidance and training to Quality Inspectors and collaborates with production teams to drive continuous improvement in quality processes. The Quality Lead will oversee only one of the following departments groups below.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coating/Logos/Repair:
- Prioritize safety and PPE amongst all employees and ensure safety compliance.
- Assist with safety Gemba walks.
- Inspect repairs and approve remakes.
- Support Coater Inspectors (breaks, assistance, etc.)
- Efficiently train employees on routine tasks.
- Assist with creating and/or editing WISOP’s.
- Cover Supervisor when they are on PTO.
- Communicate effectively via email on quality-related topics.
- Communicate quality and/or personnel issues effectively with Supervisor.
- Collaborate with production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Assist Coating/Logo/Repair teams with inspections and routine tasks (including EFAB).
- Lab/Tufting:
- Prioritize safety and PPE amongst all employees and ensure safety compliance.
- Assist with safety Gemba walks.
- Efficiently train employees on routine tasks.
- Assist with creating and/or editing WISOP’s.
- Cover Supervisor when they are on PTO.
- Communicate effectively via email on quality-related topics.
- Communicate quality and/or personnel issues effectively with Supervisor.
- Lead and mentor Quality Control Inspectors.
- Perform inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished artificial turf products.
- Analyze inspection data and identify trends or patterns that indicate potential quality problems.
- Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.
- Collaborate with production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Quality Lead must follow company policies, safety procedures, and industry regulations to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Inspection Experience
- Basic Computer Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in using quality management software and databases.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of artificial turf manufacturing processes is preferred.
- High School Diploma/ GED required
- Ability to read and interpret production orders and specifications.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Basic math skills: Adding, subtraction, multiplication, division.
- Basic measurement skills using measuring tapes, rulers, and other tools.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
