Schedule: On-Site Monday - Friday (8 hours shift)

Primary Function:

The Quality Lead under general supervision, leads and oversees the Idaho Falls Food Safety and Quality Programs. Manage the Food Safety (HACCP) program and serve as the primary site PCQI. Coordinate the required quality programs, including document control, quality supplier program, pest control, internal auditing program, food defense coordinator, and complaint coordinator. Serve as the site’s primary FDQI and PCQI. Assist the Quality Control with technical duties to achieve departmental goals.

Main Responsibilities And Activities:

- Track/trend/report monthly quality metrics to RQM.

- Lead food safety-related RCAs, support product quality RCAs.

- Manage received customer complaints (completion of SAP actions, investigations, create customer response letters) .

- Oversee creation of QARs for all product quality/food safety-related issues -Support site FPC compliance rate.

- Lead site EMP, GMP, and glass/brittle plastics programs.

- Oversee creation and completion of QARs associated with identified opportunities within these programs.

- Lead the plant Food Safety, Food Defense, and Food Fraud annual plan updates and annual reviews.

- Review and approve MOCs related to quality/food safety.

- Lead internal audit program.

- Lead customer audits, certification audits, regulatory audits, etc.

- Lead traceability exercises.

- Oversee completion of PRP verifications, Key Process Map updates.

- Participate in quarterly management review meetings.

- Review and approve oPRP documentation.

- Complete annual required JSAs, safety observations, gmp observations and their entry into the EXP system (or Cority) .

- Facilitate pest control program.

- Serve as intelex system site administrator.

- Regularly report to the team on open and/or overdue QARs, open document review and approvals, etc.

- Provide necessary training on the use of the system.

- Serve as site document control coordinator.

- Provide training on document control requirements & how to manage document control activities.

- Provide new hires with GMP/HACCP training, Intelex training (as needed).

- Lead site Food Safety Team and Quality Committee and oversee.

- Raw, In process, and/or Finished product testing and analysis reporting in SAP.- Support QC equipment maintenance and calibration program, as needed.

- Participate in CRA testing and reporting of results.

- Support QC supply ordering, as needed.

- Quarterly water sample collection & shipment & data reporting.

- Facilitate review, approval, and completion of returns.

- Perform QC Technician duties when the QC tech is out of the office.

- Other Duties as Assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Food Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience will be considered.

- Food Safety certification, PCQI, and HACCP.

- Experience in managing quality programs and/or laboratory within a related industry.

- Possess good working knowledge of GMPs and GLPs.

- Lean Six Sigma certification.

- ISO 22000:2018 and FSSC 22000 lead auditor, HACCP, and PCQI certified.

- Must be available for some after-hour coverage as needed.

- Experience in data control and information systems, controlled documentation, filing, and managing document processes, and programs.

- Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Office, SAP, and Intelex.

Pay Range:

$65,000.00-$86,666.67 Annual

This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).

Incentive Compensation:

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
