Role Summary
As the Intern you are responsible to apply the academic knowledge acquired in the academic program to the real working world in an ambulatory oncologic day-care group of centres in Spain. Internships are an opportunity for the student to participate in a working activity, to acquire some understanding of the uses to which the educational program can be put in an organization whose activity falls within the realm of the student’s area of interest, in this case within . It is also an opportunity for them to learn about how relationships and activities work in the field. The intern/trainee can expect to gain precious experience as to how to position him/herself in the working environment and as to how seasoned professionals in that environment manage their work. Some students have a long career behind them, in this case not only can they learn from their internship but often they can make a significant contribution to the activities that they are participating in.

What you’ll do:

Assist in collecting and managing outcomes data related to quality and safety performance of the company.

Analyse quality metrics and indicators to develop measurements and develop actions for improvement.

Provide insights and understand how the quality system is developed withing an ambulatory services company specialized in oncology.

Participate in national meetings related to quality and safety topics.

Drive and collaborate on developing quality improvement projects related to strategic priorities, data analysis and performance measures.

Give and support train staff members in quality and safety topics.

Participate in the internal and external audit systems of GenesisCare's quality management models.
What you’ll have:

Exposure to different areas to develop relationships with various individuals/agencies/key stakeholders within the company.

Learn different concepts and methodology in Risk management, patient safety and Quality improvement from the local and global perspective.

Get experience on care quality external and internal inspection regimes or models.

Contribution to research projects and protocols in the field of patient safety developed by the quality area.
Other requirements for this role:
-
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering or Science degree (nursing, medical, biomedical) or postgraduate degree interested in healthcare quality management.

English and Spanish (professional level)

Spend at least 2 months (max 6 months)

Accomplish academic requirements from the program by the end of the internship (final report, publication, etc.)

Previous knowledge in quality, safety or risk management

Availability to travel within the country.
