JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining a good Vendor/Customers’ relationship by consistently exceeding customer expectations, throughout proper product development and supply in a world-class condition. All systems/criteria shall be deployed, documented, and maintained to ensure consistent quality assurance.
Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Quality Engineer will prepare PPAP submissions for customers. Interact with vendors to complete first-time submissions. Coordinate with Materials and Production departments to ensure effective, on-time implementation.

Understand full build processes to provide world-class interior products to Customers.

Follow through with process/product changes and implement changes according to plan.

Read and interpret blueprints, verifying product compliance by utilizing various measurement tools.

Develop or review forms for data acquisition from inspection operations.

Coordinate the engineering build of development samples to verify proposed changes.

Assist with the training of the Quality technicians, Quality Auditors, and Liaisons of their duties.

Promote safety and positive communications between the Quality Department Plant Personnel, Corporate Personnel, and the Customers.

Provide leadership in troubleshooting, to analyze a timely resolution to material and/or any internal problem which may cause an interruption of world-class product delivery to our customers. Ability to solve problems and resolve issues.

Responsible for updating Global Issue Management System (GIMS) and attending customer meetings.

Ensure 8D problem solving and Quality tools are completed for each NCT/GIMS issued to plant.

Verify/update Poka Yoke audits and Product Audits.

Monitor assembly operations to determine compliance with Customers’ statistical process control requirements to maintain the process within control limits.

Create Quality alerts and post at stations and manage quality alert log.

Review daily customer scoreboard/concerns/other feedback and report out in the absence of the Quality Manager.

Responsible for performing Control Plan walks and updating core documents.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor Level Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience .

Three to five years of experience in Quality Assurance with emphasis on supplying the automotive industry.

Familiar with IATF 16949 & ISO 9001:2015 Standards.

Statistical Quality Control Knowledge a plus.

Proven problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure, particularly in a Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing environment.

Experience with JIT processes is require.

Six Sigma training, Red X training, and Trigo training (or similar) are highly desirable.
-
Must be able to work on 2nd shift (4:30pm -1:00am) and travel as needed.
