Job Description
Works with Product Owners, Development teams, Architects, Business Analysts, and System Analysts, Software Engineers to plan, execute the day-to-day quality assurance and testing activities that ensure that ALSAC products meet the quality expected. Responsible for analyzing written requirements, development team's analysis, and architecture and design artifacts to plan and execute the necessary testing efforts for assigned projects. Mentors and provides on-the-job training to junior QA staff members of quality assurance and testing processes/procedures. Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of the industries’ best practices in Quality Assurance, Validation and Testing, and Test Automation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Provides QA technical leadership for the team to help ensure that QA processes are followed, and software quality goals are achieved.
2. Participates in the design and Implementation of test automation frameworks.
3. Drives QA focus and standards as related to Functional and Regression testing.
4. Analyzes business and technical requirements to create test plans.
5. Creates and executes automated and manual test scripts as related to Functional and Regression testing, Mobile Device testing, and Cross Browser testing for a range of client, server, and cloud applications.
6. Identifies opportunities for test automation, analyzes tests runs, documents results, and troubleshoots test failures.
7. Analyze test data and document in test reports, perform technical root-cause analysis of failed test automations and communicates to team.
8. Assists in creating quality metrics, and tracks to drive change to processes through the use of data.
- Proficient in a range of leading industry test automation and test management tools, preferably selenium.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of QA processes within the software development lifecycle, and a fundamental understanding of Agile methodologies.
- Applies knowledge into daily Quality Assurance efforts while maintaining a sufficient functional knowledge of ALSAC/St Jude’s internet and intranet applications, third-party software solutions and proprietary developments.
- Industry certifications (CSQA, CMSQ, ISTQB Fundamental, etc.) are preferred.
- Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skill and critical thinking abilities, as well as strong research and analytical skills.
- Must have good time management skills and be self-motivated and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have capacity to learn new technologies; understand complex verbal or written instructions; possesses the ability to work effectively; must be well organized and able to work in a team environment.
- Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Quality Assurance/Control, Business or related field with 3 - 5 years of experience.
