Job Summary & Responsibilities
We are seeking talented Senior Quality Engineer who can improve the quality and reliability of our software products and services while collaborating with an experienced team of product development professionals.
You will join a cross-functional, DevOps based, product development team responsible for the entire product development life cycle, encompassing conception, continuous discovery, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you should possess expertise in a variety of automated testing techniques, development frameworks, and third-party tools. While automation-based testing will be the norm, there will be occasions when exploratory and manual testing are also justified.

The Senior Quality Engineer will report to Quality Engineering Manager in the Technology department.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Working closely with fellow product development team members, quality engineers play a pivotal role in driving team-level success through the demonstration of the following key attributes:

  • Collaborating with Users, Engineers, Designers, and Product Managers to understand the expected outcomes and associated requirements, specifications, and user stories of the software products and services.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of quality assurance engineers, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise to drive excellence in testing and quality assurance
  • Leading the design, development, and maintenance of automated test suites and frameworks to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency
  • Designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive testing strategies providing effective automated functional, integration, system, regression, performance, accessibility, and security testing.
  • Employing Test First and Acceptance Criteria Driven approaches to continuously test and deliver high-quality software services and solutions (mobile, front end, back-end, and data/analytic based).
  • Implementing and maintaining automated testing frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, PlayWright, BrowserStack, MABL, Postman, Cucumber, TestNG, JUnit, or Appium, to increase test coverage and efficiency.
  • Identifying, reporting, and tracking escaped software defects, issues, and risks, using defect management tools.
  • Ensuring release candidates meet non-functional requirements, such as security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, accessibility, and reliability.
  • Actively pursuing continuous professional growth by staying updated on new testing tools, techniques, and methodologies by engaging in educational opportunities, keeping informed through professional publications, nurturing personal and professional networks, and actively participating in relevant professional organizations.


Skills & Abilities:
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of demonstrating:

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of quality assurance engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement strategic test plans and test strategies to ensure comprehensive test coverage and alignment with business goals
  • Strong Testing and Debugging Skills: Proficiency in testing methodologies, techniques, and automation tools is essential. Senior Quality Engineers should have an excellent understanding of software quality standards, testing best practices, and the ability to design and execute effective test automation frameworks, automated test cases and scenarios. This includes expertise in unit testing, integration testing, and debugging to ensure the reliability and quality of software applications.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Senior Quality Engineers must possess strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to analyze complex technical challenges. They should be able to break down problems into manageable components and devise effective solutions.
  • Software Product Development Lifecycle Experience: Familiarity with the software development lifecycle is crucial. This includes understanding requirements gathering, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance in an Agile/Scaled Agile manner. Experience with Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming, or other outcome based iterative development approach required.
  • Knowledge of Development Tools and Frameworks: Senior Quality Engineer should be proficient in using development tools and frameworks relevant to their domain such as version control systems (e.g., Git), integrated development environments and platforms (e.g., Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ, Postman), and frameworks specific to testing (e.g., Selenium, PlayWright, Cucumber, TestNG, JUnit, or Appium).
  • Collaboration and Communication: Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams is vital for quality engineers. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, enable them to clearly express ideas, collaborate with colleagues, and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Continuous Learning: The field of software quality assurance is constantly evolving, so a mindset of continuous learning is crucial. Staying updated with new technologies, testing tools, techniques, and methodologies is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of Security Best Practices: Strong understanding of secure coding and testing practices and the ability to apply them effectively in software development. Ability to implement security controls, conduct code reviews, and perform security-focused testing, ensuring adherence to industry standards and minimizing the risk of potential exploits.
  • Compliance: Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements and industry-specific security standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA. Ability to design and implement software solutions that meet these compliance standards, ensuring the protection of sensitive data and maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • System Design and Architecture: Senior Quality Engineer should have a solid understanding of system design principles and architecture patterns. This includes scalability, performance optimization, and the ability to design robust and efficient software systems.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Quality engineers often encounter changing requirements, tight deadlines, and evolving technologies. Being adaptable, flexible, and able to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and frameworks is crucial.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 4-8 years of experience in skills, abilities, and responsibilities enumerated above in a Software Quality Assurance and/or Software Product Development role(s) or equivalent roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or similar/related Engineering/Science based disciplines.
  • ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level - Preferred
  • ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level - Model-Based Tester - Preferred
  • ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level - Technical Test Analyst - Preferred
  • ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level - Test Automation Engineer - Preferred
  • ISTQB Certified Tester Expert Level - Test Automation - Preferred
  • ISTQB Certified Tester Expert Level - Security Testing - Preferred


Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work overtime, off-hours and weekends in support of production releases
