QA Engineer

Job Overview 
We are seeking a QA Engineer with expertise in both manual and automated testing to ensure our platform's reliability, security, and performance. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing test cases that verify user journeys, system functionality, and integrations. Your automated tests will be integrated into our CI/CD pipeline to catch defects early and maintain system stability.

Key Responsibilities
Manual Testing:
• Develop, execute, and document manual test cases for new features, regression testing, and exploratory testing.
• Validate UI components, API integrations, and user flows across web applications.
• Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing to ensure a consistent user experience.
• Identify, log, and track defects using bug-tracking tools.

Automated Testing:
• Develop and maintain automated test suites for UI, API, and end-to-end (E2E) testing.
• Implement and execute automated user journey tests using tools like Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium.
• Automate API testing with Postman or Jest to validate backend services.
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline) to ensure continuous quality.
• Monitor and improve test performance, flakiness, and maintainability.

Testing Strategy & Best Practices:
• Define and maintain a robust test strategy covering functional, regression, performance, security, and usability testing.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure test coverage and improve testability.
• Implement best practices for test case management, documentation, and versioning.

Performance & Security Testing (Bonus):
• Conduct basic performance testing to identify and address application bottlenecks.
• Validate security best practices, including authentication flows and API security.

Qualifications
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.

Experience:
o 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance (QA) with manual and automated testing.
o Strong experience testing modern web applications using tools like Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or Jest.
o Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines for automated validation.
o Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, API testing tools (Postman, Jest, Supertest), and debugging API responses.
o Understanding of test automation frameworks and best practices.
o Experience working in Agile development teams.

Skills:
o Expertise in RESTful API design, development, and documentation.
o Proficiency in writing test scripts in JavaScript/TypeScript.
o Familiarity with testing libraries like Jest, Mocha, or Chai.
o Experience with version control (Git, GitHub) and integrating tests into CI/CD workflows.
o Knowledge of bug tracking and test management tools (Jira, TestRail, etc.).
o Understanding of database queries (SQL/NoSQL) for test validation.
o Strong problem-solving skills, focusing on clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

Nice to Have:
o Experience testing serverless applications and cloud-based architectures (AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway).
o Knowledge of performance testing tools like k6, JMeter, or Locust. 
o Familiarity with security testing practices (e.g., OAuth testing, penetration testing).
o ISTQB or other relevant testing certifications.
