As a QA Engineer, you will ensure the quality and reliability of applications and platforms critical to our business operations. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into comprehensive test plans, coordinating testing efforts with offshore QA resources, and developing automated testing solutions. You will be responsible for validating systems across a diverse technological ecosystem, including external platforms such as Salesforce, warehouse management systems, and other operational tools.
Your contributions will ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of applications that support business functions such as CRM/ERP, order fulfillment, finance, and more.
Work Hours and Location:
- Be available to assist in troubleshooting and support for off-hours production issues as needed.
- The IT team operates in a hybrid environment requiring 1-2 days per week in the Philadelphia office.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand functional and non-functional requirements.
- Translate business needs into detailed and actionable test plans.
- Test Planning and Execution:
- Develop and execute manual and automated test cases for web, mobile, and enterprise applications.
- Conduct testing across a wide range of systems, including external platforms like Salesforce and warehouse management systems.
- Ensure software quality through functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
- Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring timely resolution with development teams.
- Team Coordination:
- Coordinate offshore QA resources to align testing efforts with project priorities.
- Act as the central point of contact for QA across multiple concurrent projects.
- Automation Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks to improve test coverage and efficiency.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for consistent and reliable deployments.
- Platform and System Expertise:
- Validate integrations and workflows involving external systems such as Salesforce, warehouse management systems, and other operational tools.
- Ensure the quality and performance of system interfaces and data flows.
- Quality Advocacy:
- Promote quality-focused practices across the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with developers and operations teams to implement QA best practices.
- Provide clear and actionable updates on test progress, defect trends, and quality metrics.
Technical Skills:
- Core Testing Skills:
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, test cycles, and best practices.
- Proficient in creating test plans, test cases, and defect tracking documentation.
- Hands-on experience with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
- Automation Skills:
- Expertise with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Cypress).
- Experience scripting in languages like Python, JavaScript, or Java for automated testing.
- System and Integration Focus:
- Experience testing integrations with external platforms, such as Salesforce and warehouse management systems.
- Knowledge of API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI) for validating system interfaces.
- Other Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with SQL for database validation and data integrity checks.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and their integration with automated testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with operational tools and workflows, such as order fulfillment and data warehousing systems.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including test automation.
- Experience working with external platforms such as Salesforce, warehouse management systems, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with business and technical teams.
