DWH QA Consultant, Budapest

Lab49 is looking for an DWH QA with extensive experience in test suites for data ingestion pipelines, data warehouses, data marts, and BI report. We seek a professional with the ability to visualize complex, high-volume data movement across multiple systems, design and execute tests for each transformation step, and possess strong SQL, ETL, and DWH testing skills. The ideal candidate is familiar with using a data-driven approach and interested in automated tests.

What you will do:

• Create test scripts for data pipelines, Datamart, Reporting data and BI reports. 
• Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for automated testing. 
• Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across data ingestion and data warehouse processes. 
• Write SQL queries for testing end to end data flow which can eventually be used in automation. 
• Conduct performance and load testing for data ingestion and data warehouse systems to ensure scalability and reliability. 
• Set up and maintain test environments, including data sets, configurations, and tools required for testing. 
• Generate test reports, metrics, and dashboards to provide visibility into test progress and quality status. 
• Document test cases, test scripts, and test results for future reference and audit purposes. 
• Continuously improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance test efficiency and effectiveness. 
• Ensure testing processes comply with data governance, security, and regulatory requirements. 
• Conduct security testing to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities in data systems.

Required experience and skills:

• 6-10 years of extensive experience in BI Report Testing, ETL Testing, Data Analysis and Data Mart/Data Warehouse Testing.
• Proficient in writing medium to complex SQL queries for test validation alongside development. 
• Salesforce Object Query Language (SOQL) and experienced with Salesforce CRM. 
• Deep knowledge in BI Reporting tools like Cognos, Power BI, etc.
• Strong understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies. 
• Results-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced agile environment. 
• Experience in Test Management and Defect Management, including test execution reporting, defect tracking, and regression testing for project releases. 
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, or similar. 
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience working across different geographical locations and time zones. 

Desired experience and skills:

• Skilled in understanding and debugging Stored Procedures. 
• Hands-on experience with AWS, including AWS Redshift and MongoDB. 
• Expertise in creating and managing test data using stubs/drivers for GUI validation when real test data is unavailable. 
• Experience with test automation tools like Playwright, Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Appium, Jest, Mocha, etc. 
• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and suites for frontend, backend and API testing.
• Experience within the financial domain is a plus.
