Job Description

General Position Description

The role is responsible to maintain accurate ordering information for storeroom materials by working with internal personnel as well as suppliers and assist the Buyers in placing and expediting orders.  The Purchasing Coordinator manages the cycle counting, consignment, equipment repair processes for storeroom materials, and enters raw material receipts.  

Role and Responsibilities

  • Ensures cycle counting process is followed and completed for all storeroom materials.
  • Maintain accuracy of all relevant information in SAP related to suppliers, individual material codes and obsolete materials.
  • Process requisitions and purchase orders for repairable equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Partner with suppliers to manage consignment process.
  • Manage storeroom inventory by reviewing items for obsolescence, adjustments, excess inventory.  Process paperwork for obsolete materials.
  • Issue work orders for materials made in house.
  • Generate reports for procurement team, stock outs, deletions, savings and queries.
  • Process all paperwork for outgoing shipments from the storeroom.
  • Back up to Buyer and/or Storeroom Supervisor.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Education – HS diploma or (GED).  Associate’s Degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience – 2+ years Purchasing.  Procurement or related preferred.
  • Software – Microsoft Office.  SAP preferred.

The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
