Public Sector Account Executive

Job Description

As an Enterprise Account Executive focused on the public sector in Germany, you will be responsible for discovering, developing, and managing new and existing business relationships with public sector customers. This includes nurturing senior decision making-level relationships within governmental agencies and public institutions, positioning SUSE solutions to address their unique challenges, and guiding them through successful digital transformations.

You will collaborate with internal teams, including solution architects, partner sales specialists, and consulting services, to deliver tailored, impactful solutions. Your role is central to SUSE’s public sector growth strategy, focusing on expanding market share and enhancing customer satisfaction.


 

Exceed predetermined sales and coverage targets for designated accounts. Emphasize the acquisition of novel opportunities while simultaneously enhancing existing customer connections.

Focus Areas

  • Surpass assigned sales quotas, particularly focusing on nurturing existing relationships and net new and expansion opportunities within the public sector.

  • Accurately forecast sales outcomes using SUSE's established methodologies

  • Build and maintain deep relationships with public sector customers, understanding their specific business challenges and aligning SUSE's solutions to address these needs.

  • Curate a precise mix of products, services, and solutions to effectively address client challenges.

  • Concentrate efforts on key accounts within the assigned market to identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.

  • Foster and expand a robust internal and external network to manage complex, solution-based sales processes, and negotiate high-value deals.

  • Act as a natural networker, striking a balance between long-term value, personal achievement, and SUSE's interests.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to public sector clients, offering solutions that facilitate digital transformation and meet compliance requirements.

  • Play an active role in bolstering SUSE's strategic indirect sales model by orchestrating sales within the ecosystem.

  • Serve as a mentor and role model, embodying integrity, capabilities, and results.

  • Cultivate trust as a reliable advisor both internally and externally.

  • Proactively seek opportunities for improvement, maintaining current certification and sales skills.


 

Experience & Skills: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Proven track record of success in enterprise sales, with experience working with public sector customers.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise sales methodologies, particularly MEDDICC.

  • Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas and goals. 

  • Ability to translate customer business issues into suitable solutions using innovative approaches.

  • Strong understanding of public procurement processes, compliance regulations, and challenges unique to the public sector.

  • Coordination of internal and external collaborators at various levels for solution-oriented sales.

  • Relationship management at higher management and executive tiers across different business lines.

  • Strong negotiation and deal-closing skills.

  • Knowledge of territory markets and customer industries, with an eye on trends and strategic directions.

  • Strategic prioritization of complex solution-based sales activities.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Previous experience in managing high-level customer relationships, ideally within the technology sector

  • Proactive approach to seeking continuous improvement and staying updated on industry trends.

  • Relevant certifications or training in sales methodologies is a plus.
