The Public Relations Coordinator will work alongside the communications team on all aspects of public relations for The Points Guy and Lonely Planet. This role is responsible for supporting communications, public relations and marketing initiatives for Red Ventures travel brands to inspire and help people to travel better. The PR Coordinator will focus on developing media outreach materials, providing operational and administrative support, and coordinating external and internal communications that drive earned media for both brands. The ideal candidate is eager to grow their PR skills and experience and a passion for travel.

The PR Coordinator reports to the Senior Manager of Public Relations and will be based in The Points Guy’s New York City office on a hybrid schedule with Tues-Thurs as our standard in office days.


What You’ll Do: 

  • Support the planning and execution of PR marketing campaigns for The Points Guy and Lonely Planet Brands, including researching travel industry trends, brainstorming creative pitch angles that align with brand mission and impact, and writing/developing media materials such as talking points, fact sheets and releases
  • Use a strategic and creative mindset when developing pitches, providing event support, and assisting in PR-related activations and initiatives
  • Develop relationships with company spokespeople, agency partners, and key media “friendlies” and key journalists
  • Maintain and organize media outreach trackers, media distribution lists and press coverage, ensuring all documents are up-to-date to assist in PR planning and reporting
  • Monitor media coverage, compile weekly and monthly press reports and manage press clippings


What We’re Looking For:

  • 1-2 years of experience in media, preferably in agency or PR
  • Working knowledge of PR and communications
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for travel, credit cards and points and miles is a plus

Compensation

  • Cash Compensation Range: $62,000-$85,000*
    *Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
