Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Patient Support Access Specialist to join our team at the CT/Vascular Surgery office!
This is a Full Time, benefits eligible position
Position Summary:
Responsible for the patient experience as it relates to the administrative process, from start to finish. Point of contact for internal team members, external vendors/organizations, and patients. This position will play a key role in streamlining workflow to ensure efficient scheduling for:

Consultations

Testing
-
Procedures

Follow-up appointments
Ensures excellent patient experience, maximize reimbursement, minimize time from referral to procedure, and aid in positive outcomes.
Education and Experience:
-
High School graduate or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred.

Minimum of two years relevant experience, including knowledge of scheduling, registration, patient billing, and medical terminology required.

Minimum of three years’ experience as surgery scheduler preferred.

Demonstrates proficiency with data entry/keyboarding.
Essential Duties:

Supports the patient and clinical team from all aspects of the administrative duties of a patient’s appointments.

Accountable for scheduling and ensuring necessary paperwork is completed in accordance to the needs of the team.

Maintains effective working relations with departments to ensure timely scheduling of testing and procedures.

Processes prior authorizations for procedures and any testing that requires authorization.

Responsible for claim reconciliation if prompted by the revenue integrity team.

Performs clerical duties such as answering and directing phone calls, monitoring incoming mail, and replying to emails.
