Responsibilities:

Scope of the Role 

This role will take the lead in the entire proposal development lifecycle. This position will collaborate closely with various teams, including subject matter experts, sales, marketing, and technical teams, to gather the necessary information to craft winning proposals. The ability to develop a clear and effective proposal strategy that aligns with client requirements and evaluation criteria will be crucial. By crafting, editing, and proofreading proposal content, this position will ensure that our proposals are not only well-written but also perfectly aligned with our branding and messaging. 

 

This role’s skills in project management will shine as they orchestrate the proposal process. The Proposal Manager creates and manages proposal schedules, keeping an eagle eye on deadlines and ensuring a seamless workflow. Assigning tasks to different team members and monitoring progress will be second nature. Any hurdles that emerge during the proposal development process will find a swift resolution under this role’s guidance and maintain efficient communication channels across departments to ensure a collaborative approach. 

 

The meticulous attention to detail will come to the forefront as this role meticulously review proposal content. Accuracy, compliance, and adherence to best practices will be the watchwords. The Proposal Lead will collaborate closely with compliance and legal teams to ensure our proposals meet all necessary regulations and company policies. Furthermore, this role will be a proactive force, constantly identifying opportunities to refine the proposal development process, enhance workflows, and maintain a library of reusable content to streamline future efforts. 

The Proposal Lead will be a key architect of our organization's growth. This role’s expertise in developing client-centric, persuasive proposals will position us ahead of the competition. By weaving together strategic thinking, project management finesse, and writing skills, this role craft proposals that leave a lasting impact and secure new avenues for our business. 

 

 

 

Performance Outcomes 

 

Proposal Development: 

  • Lead the end-to-end proposal development process, ensuring the creation of competitive and compelling proposals. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, including subject matter experts, sales, marketing, and technical teams. 

  • Develop a clear proposal strategy that addresses client needs and aligns with evaluation criteria. 

  • Write, edit, and proofread proposal content, maintaining clarity, conciseness, and alignment with branding. 

  • Tailor proposal content to meet client requirements while ensuring consistency and accuracy. 

 

Project Management: 

  • Develop and manage a proposal schedule, overseeing all deadlines and maintaining a smooth process. 

  • Assign tasks to team members involved in proposal development and monitor progress. 

  • Resolve any issues or bottlenecks that may arise during the proposal process. 

  • Ensure efficient coordination between teams and departments for seamless collaboration. 

 

Quality Control and Improvement 

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of proposal content for accuracy, compliance, and adherence to best practices. 

  • Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to ensure proposals meet regulations and company policies. 

  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the proposal development process and streamline workflows. 

  • Maintain a library of standard proposal content and templates for efficient future use. 

  • Stay updated with industry trends and competitor analysis to incorporate relevant insights into proposals. 

 

Education, Knowledge, and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business, marketing, communications, etc.); advanced degrees preferred 

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in proposal management, business development, or a related field. 

  • Proven experience in proposal management, business development, or a related role. 

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and proposal management software. 

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. 

  • Familiarity with industry best practices in proposal development and business communication. 

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
