Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Level Program Manager. The Senior Project Manager (LIS) will manage and oversee the successful execution of complex projects for the Product Lead, Logistics Information Systems (PL LIS) at Fort Gregg Adams, Virginia. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in project management, Army logistics, and leading cross functional teams in dynamic and high paced environments.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Typical Duties:
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, ensuring clear goals, requirements, and deliverables.
- Allocate resources effectively, set priorities, establish deadlines, and ensure adherence to project milestones.
- Track cost, schedule, and performance metrics, providing regular updates and corrective action plans when necessary.
- Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Lead cross functional teams, fostering collaboration and positive working relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee task assignments, ensuring accountability and excellence in service delivery. Manage staffing needs, including recruiting, onboarding, and performance oversight for project personnel.
- Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
- Regularly brief senior leadership and stakeholders on project status, risks, and accomplishments.
- Prepare high quality reports, briefings, and after-action reviews to support technical reviews and decision making.
- Develop and manage project specific documentation, policies, and procedures.
- Risk Management and Problem Solving:
- Identify potential risks and challenges, proposing and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Resolve procurement, certification, and acquisition challenges while ensuring compliance with small business and other government mandates.
- Process Improvement and Compliance:
- Ensure projects comply with government and corporate policies, directives, and acquisition standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
- Utilize tools such as SharePoint and other web-based platforms to improve organizational information sharing.
- Financial and Resource Management:
- Prepare and submit monthly cost reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor project budgets and variances, recommending adjustments to meet financial objectives.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated expertise in leading remote and geographically dispersed teams.
- Extensive consulting experience with the Department of Defense (DoD) or related organizations.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Visio, and Word.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Travel up to 10%
Qualifications:
- Secret Clearance Level
- U.S. Citizenship
- Master’s degree in business administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Army logistics, with a proven track record of managing complex projects in a government or military environment.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or SAFe® Agilist for Agile expertise.
- Agile project management certifications (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster or SAFe® Agilist).
- Familiarity with Army acquisition processes and directives.
- Experience with logistics information systems and related data management platforms.
