Avantor is looking for a motivated and experienced Project Manager to join our team. This role is designed to focus on project execution for Integration, including the development and implementation of the methodology that will be used globally for these activities.
The role will be remote and travel as required to support project activities.

What we’re looking for 

  • Education: College degree required in Industrial Engineering or Chemical Engineering; Master’s degree strongly preferred

  • Experience: 5-8 years of applicable experience

  • 3+ years of leadership experience

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills to build relationships and foster trust at all organizational levels

  • Experience in leadership of initiatives involving organizational change, process restructuring, or system implementation

  • Proficient in the methods, techniques, and tools for planning, resourcing, and monitoring of project activities including advanced use and knowledge of MS Office – PMP Certification an asset

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize workload

  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and cooperate successfully with staff from different countries and thus from different cultures

  • Ability to teach and transfer skills to team leaders, team members, and general audiences

  • Preferred Qualifications: Six Sigma Black Belt Certification and Project Management Designation preferred

How you will thrive and create an impact 

  • Establish and maintain the PMI program management methodology:

  • Develop Project templates/action plans with integration owners

  • Project manage and plan for the execution of integration activities

  • Track progress of project execution and escalate process bottlenecks, anticipated delays, and other project completion risks.

  • Drive and monitor key activities within each business / functional integration phase.

  • Create and track program milestones, interdependencies and communication plans.

  • Provide dashboards to monitor integration status.

  • Prepare and coordinate communications and report outs for key internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers as appropriate.

  • Organize program management and update meetings as needed

  • Prepare and distribute minutes of these meetings including action items and follow ups.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)
Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
Travel will be required based on need of the project.
Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.
A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.
Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
