We are looking for a Project Manager
The principle purpose of the role is to support the Project Management Team by providing accurate, integrated and meaningful project planning and reporting.
The role requires proven “hands-on” experience in planning, scheduling, data analysis & cost control within a complex engineering/manufacturing environment covering high level & detailed schedule compilation, program reporting, budgeting & risk management by:
- monitoring, analyzing and reporting for project schedules to ensure that information is used in project decision-making based upon the status of the most up to date schedule and update of Project schedules, in liaison with work package & control account managers, to reflect progressed/completed work
- contributing and following-up to PPS campaigns, Business Review, Monthly Programs Review, Program MLS by monitoring and reporting the status of EAC costs
Tasks will include:
Project Planning Schedule Construct & Resource Profiling
- Create and maintain integrated master schedules for assigned projects ensuring the level of detail is correct for the type and complexity of project. Support on the production of the project reports
- Making use of layout to ensure that schedule can be easily presented and understood
- Analyze critical path
Project Controls:
- Contributes effectively to all MPR reviews and Program MLS by providing relevant and reliable information including monthly Dashboard Pack Reporting across the Project.
- Routinely applies basic performance measurement techniques to validate actual progress and reasons for variance through KPI
- Provides resource profiles resulting from the monthly schedule update process in order to reconcile resource loading anomalies ahead of the data publish
- Drives an effective and efficient process for managing Cost and Schedule change control
- Outlines the planning policies and guidelines and ensure they are implemented and followed correctly by all Project Managers and Work Package Managers. Establishes and puts in place governance to ensure the project is well controlled, including identifying where governance is lacking and influencing a change in ways of working to ensure control
- Demonstrates an understanding of the importance of schedule risk analysis and supports the deployment & reporting of Risk & Opportunity Management
Skills, Experience and Behaviors:
- Experience of working in a multi-discipline team environment of a critical project
- Understanding of the project life cycle for complex programs with an understanding of Development, Production and Long Term Support activities
- Knowledge and experience of planning build-up, analysis and related SW tools (MS Project and Primavera Project Planner)
- Knowledge and experience of cost estimation, analysis and related SW tool (SAP, OASIS, PCM…)
- Ability to establish and meet deadlines, multi-task and priorities without the requirement for regular direct supervision
- Awareness of risk management process
- Detailed understanding of the principles of Earned Value Management
- Excellent communication skills to convey planning information to a variety of stakeholders as well as practical experience of structured planning within a medium to large organization
- A relevant Space Engineering background would be advantageous
Education & Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent is needed
- Membership of a professional management Institution (e.g. PMI, IPMA, APICS) is an asset
