Job Description

Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to plan and execute customer and internal projects.  Designing, executing and monitoring every aspect of the project per the customers’ requirements and specifications.  Collaborate with the Proposals Team to review customer bid specifications, assist in developing cost/price numbers, conduct project handover meetings, generate Engineering Work Requests to drive part creation, develop ITPs, SDRL generation and submission, coordinate milestone invoice submissions, and log/action lessons learned. These activities are performed in line with company policies and in conformity to relevant standards.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Determining and defining a project's scope and objectives
  • Developing detailed project plans to guide clients, staff members and project teams and revising based on changing needs and requirements
  • Working effectively with relevant collaborators for efficient project implementation
  • Establishing and managing timelines and milestones
  • Compiling and submitting project status reports to clients, management and other collaborators
  • Working with vendors to coordinate deliverables
  • Monitoring project performance to ensure timely delivery, adherence to quality requirements and budget
  • Monitoring and redefining project objectives when needed
  • Prioritizing requirements and managing resources
  • Conducting video calls and meetings
  • Developing excellent leadership, customer relations and communication skills to liaise effectively with all project collaborators
  • Also responsible for driving continuous improvement projects
  • Review Engineering Drawings for accuracy and content
  • Assist other departments in internal projects
  • Work with Quality on the following activities:
    • TPI visit coordination and support
    • Review and approve vendor quality documents as needed
    • Identify root cause and provide long term solutions to NCRs and CPARs assigned to projects
  • Coordinates and facilities weekly Sales and Operation Planning meetings
    • Attend weekly/monthly regional sales/proposals calls
    • Develop communication lanes with proposals and sales to enable accurate population of high probability sales opportunities in the S&OP spreadsheet
    • Update S&OP spreadsheet with high probability opportunities, pre-engineering status, and pre-build status
  • Complies with all Sensia and local procedures applicable to the job function including; Personnel, Quality System and Health, Safety and Environmental
  • Employees may be assigned other duties, in addition to, or in lieu of those described above, according to the needs of the location or Company 

Previous Experience, Skills and Competencies:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or other Engineering Discipline or equivalent combination of higher degree and work experience or extensive work experience
  • Experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in a project role, technical assignment or manufacturing environment – including machine shop, industrial assembly plant, or another engineered products manufacturing environment.
  • Experience guiding a project through the complete Project Life Cycle: project initiation, project planning, project execution, project monitoring and controlling, and project closing.
  • Ability to coordinate a budget for projects, including analysis, and budget reporting
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent team building, leadership, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and progress monitoring
  • An ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels of the organization with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Finance and Quality.
  • Self-driven with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate risks
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing
  • Ability to function independently and in a team setting
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Understanding of ERP software systems.  Preferably SAP.

  • Complies with applicable company policies', including Personnel, Quality System and Health, Safety and Environment standards and procedures.
  • Remain current with required safety training & ensure employees are adhering to safety expectations (including but not limited to drugs and alcohol training, emergency response, fire, first aid, health and hygiene, PPE, risk reporting, IT security, hazardous materials, driving).
