Executions and / or coordination of (specialized) engineering tasks
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct the definition and development of the economical project scope based on objectives provided by the Business Groups in cooperation with the Project Responsible.
- Generate, direct and approve designs, specifications, drawing and instructions with emphasis on lowest possible investment cost and efficient and safe plant operability.
- Manage and review preparation of conceptual and detailed cost estimates for capital projects.
- Direct and control the internal and external resources and organization of the project team in order to meet project scope and schedule.
- To be fully responsible technically and managerially for the definition, organization and execution of capital projects and for the compliance with all regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Develop detailed project execution and commissioning strategies and procedures in cooperation with the Project Responsible, Site Management, the Health Safety and Environmental Department, Maintenance and Manufacturing.
- Serves as the lead in the contracting process; developing the contracting strategy, preparing work/bid packages, selecting bidders, evaluating quotes, and awarding contracts.
- Responsible for the overall job site organization, serving as a liaison for all parties involved in the construction site activities.
- To be fully accountable for the final project scope and the total Investment and Project Repair Cost.
- Direct the preparation of the design and as built documentation.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering and at least 3 years project execution and plant experience. Strong communication and organizational skills with emphasis on oral and written communication
- Ability to influence groups without having direct supervisory responsibility
- Possess a broad knowledge of plant design, production, project management, maintenance management, policies and standards
- Demonstrated technical, analytical, and problem solving skills to maintain customer, area, and business needs, including skills to successfully overcoming challenges and identifying opportunities for improvements
- Leadership skills
- Ability to cope with the stress of working on several projects concurrently and dealing with critical deadlines.
- Capable of managing typical project expenditures of $1-5 M/yr
- Experience in chemical or pharmaceutical processing equipment/ unit operations
- Strong computer skills in a variety of software packages (MS Office, SAP)
