Project Managers at AKQA are responsible for day-to-day management of all aspects of a project. PMs acutely understand the opportunities and constraints of any given assignment. Taking responsibility for setting and managing expectations internally and with clients, they deliver on time, within budget, and against agreed objectives.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Has experience managing digital design and development projects and demonstrates a sound understanding of a variety of project management methodologies.
  • Understands sequencing of activities and dependencies for effective day-to-day workflow management of a cross-disciplinary project team.
  • Demonstrates the ability to draft Statements of Work, Change Orders, and timelines.
  • Has a foundational understanding for how to identify risks and issues as they arise and work with the project team and program management leadership to develop mitigation plans.
  • Can create staffing scenarios and understands how to monitor project metrics to mitigate any staffing or financial risks.
  • Can present information clearly, effectively, and at ease in team meetings, client presentations, or occasionally in a larger group setting.
  • Holds working team accountable for delivery. Guides alignment and identifies solutions.
  • Knows how to manage and care for a project team by effectively managing team morale. 

QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • 2-5 years of experience preferably within an agency environment, delivering innovative, interactive, and consumer-focused solutions.
  • Experience at adapting to an existing delivery process to a clients' needs and process.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels, (presentation, written, verbal).
  • Proficient at project organization and documentation (i.e. content organization, management of client materials and deliverables, orienting the team around what materials/information exist and where to access)
  • Ability to build strong relationships with peers and external client staff, and the ability to achieve results under potentially difficult circumstances.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to have an objective focused and positive approach and be comfortable working independently. Is self-motivated and self-driven.
  • Strong customer service ethos, a commitment to quality, and the will to constantly drive improvements to uphold high standards of excellence and integrity.
  • Possesses good business acumen and sound judgment.
  • Displays enthusiasm for creating pioneering ideas and is excited by the challenge of moving in new, and potentially more challenging directions.
  • Eager to provide insight to and receive feedback.
  • Negotiates well, listens actively, and makes compelling points. Able to build strong relationships with peers and business counterparts.
