Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead all aspects of acquisition and documentation activities, including new sample data entry, chemistry database maintenance, and file storage.
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and Statement of Work compliance.
- Develop processes and procedures for all chemical functions, including tracking online structure submissions, data entry, and compound request, receipt, registration, and reordering.
- Generate monthly and annual reports to meet government contract requirements.
- Support and champion employee growth by providing feedback and performance improvement strategies.
- Coordinate functions with suppliers through direct communication for chemical compound registration, structure submission, shipping, and importation.
- Coordinate analytical laboratory operations, including training and usage of the Janus Plating Robot machine.
- Respond promptly to operational queries from National Cancer Institute (NCI) personnel and compound suppliers, developing and detailing computer search strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with IT personnel and contractors to assist in software maintenance and development activities supporting the DIS chemistry database and Compound Submission application.
- Ensure the department meets operational fiscal requirements.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and mentorship from the FBS QA and Facilities departments.
- Professionally interact with the NCI-CAR project director via email or team meetings.
- Ensure government and regulatory compliance, including OSHA, accident reporting, and adherence to GXP standards.
- Provide budget assistance to the Project Director and Assistant Project Director.
- Handle invoicing and receipts of goods for operational needs.
Education/ Experience:
- Chemistry Degree or equivalent experience required; Master of Science or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in a laboratory setting.
Work Schedule:
- Core hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, with additional hours as required.
Work Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Primarily office-based work environment with some exposure to laboratory and chemical warehouse settings.
- Must use personal protective equipment, engineering controls, and adhere to safety protocols.
- Ability to wear nitrile gloves for up to 2 hours per day.
- Must be able to use a computer for up to 8 hours a day.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $66,000.00–$100,000.00.
