Starr is building out a new Enterprise PMO within our CEO's Chief of Staff organization. This new group will manage Starr's most strategic projects / programs going forward. Successful candidates will be expected to bring their experience to bear as we establish this new organization and establish a dynamic project management culture.
Job Summary: The Project Management Associate will assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of projects within the organization. This role is ideal for a proactive individual with a foundational understanding of project management principles and a desire to grow their career in this field. The successful candidate will work closely with senior project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget tracking.
- Support senior project managers in coordinating project activities and ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to project stakeholders and senior management.
- Identify potential project risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, status reports, and project schedules.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members and stakeholders.
- Assist in the organization and facilitation of project meetings and workshops.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the development of project management best practices.
- Assist with feedback loop between business customer and development / project team.
- Embed appropriate success metrics throughout project cycle and into hand over to post-project support team.
- Perform administrative tasks as needed to support project activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in project management or a related role.
- Basic understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello).
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Eagerness to learn and grow within the project management field.
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Starr Insurance Companies is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets: experience and training: licensure and certifications: and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $100,000-$120,000
