Project Management Consultant, Summer Intern

UDig is seeking an aspiring project management consultant to join our team as an intern in the summer of 2025. As an intern, you will explore new challenges, grow your IT project delivery skills, and deliver impactful business solutions through our paid summer internship program. From day one, you will be assigned a mentor who will help you settle in, share experiences, and provide guidance on your assigned projects. Past interns have delivered impactful solutions for UDig; while others have blended into client teams. Whether working with internal or external stakeholders, you will gain real experience interacting and working with clients as part of a team delivering solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Leverage your business acumen and technical understanding to lead teams in delivering technical solutions that address client business challenges
• Lead project standups and client check-ins 
• Ensure successful delivery by gathering requirements, managing the backlog and sprint planning, planning and participating in project demos, and more
• Collaborate with other interns, clients, and UDig teammates on active client projects and/or internal UDig projects
• Gain exposure to consulting and UDig’s services
• Networking with experienced teammates and leadership (virtually and/or in-person) and have fun as part of the UDig team through events, games, and more

What You'll Need: 

Below are a few boxes you should be able to check if you’re interested: Don't check every box? Go ahead and apply! 

• Rising senior in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, MIS, CIS, IT or related program by summer 2025 (Graduating December 2024 or May 2025)
• Passion for delivering technology-focused projects  
• Understanding of the the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum
• Proven problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to: 
  • Build strong partnerships with teammates, leaders, and client stakeholders 
  • Present technical ideas and high-level concepts to internal and external team members  
• Open to giving/receiving feedback with a willingness to be challenged and learn new things
• Ability to disconnect from work and have fun with colleagues (virtual and/or in-person)
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment from one of UDig’s major markets (Richmond, VA or Nashville, TN metro areas)
