Summary
- Coordinate EHS operations throughout the facility in line with Baxter's EHS policy requirements, local legislation, ISO14001 and ISO 45001
- Establish and coordinate environment, health and safety programs within the facility,
- Perform risk assessments and Gemba walks to identify and mitigate business risks to employee, environment and plant assets
Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
- Support EHS manager and plant management in understanding the business risks associated with EHS, and implement activities to manage these risks,
- Implement systems to ensure EHS requirements are continuously aligned to requirements e.g. internal audits, procedural updates and training, etc.
- Helps develop technical solutions to address EHS challenges
- Implement, train and coordinate the activities of the plant related to EHS matters, that is but not limited to emergency response team to intervene during emergencies that could impact the business, safe system of work
- Proactively identify potential EHS hazards through risk assessments, Gemba walks, inspections, etc., and drive timely corrective actions
- Address EHS deficiencies within legislative, Baxter's 1.4.3, ISO14001 and ISO 45001 frameworks
Qualifications.
Knowledge of EHSS regulations
Self-motivated, strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing plant setting
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
International Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management by Nebosh or equivalent is preferred
Education and/or Experience.
Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field required.
EHS requires amongst other factors a change in culture. Apart from the educational background requirements, it also includes hands-on experience in EHS aspects.
