Role

Responsible for the planning and design of the district distribution network ensuring system stewardship, network security and integrity. Undertaking system analysis to determine system performance, network alterations, reinforcement requirements and to derive solutions in line with Asset Management policies.

Working within the Lanarkshire district team you will be responsible for designing the safe provision of projects and programmes of work across the district area with strict adherence to the appropriate regulatory and license obligations for the electricity distribution network.

What you'll be doing

  • Design investment schemes to improve the overall performance of the distribution network in accordance with unit or authorised costs to enable efficient delivery of outputs
  • Prepare and deliver robust project plans to facilitate business deliverables in line with district plans and to minimise outages to customers
  • Review system performance to identify potential improvements and develop investment proposals
  • Consider the application of innovative solutions to all designs whether this be technological, procedural or commercial
  • Deliver district business plan outputs in line with financial and regulatory objectives whilst optimising return through incentive mechanisms
  • Promote an exemplary safety culture and ensure that all safety legislation is incorporated into all project designs

What you will bring

You will have you worked in a Programme/Project Coordinator role and have demonstratable experience of effectively delivering projects and/or initiatives

  • Engineering/Professional qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a network design role
  • Relevant network construction and operational experience
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment including relevant output and incentive mechanisms
  • Understanding of the commercial environment
  • Ability to devise solutions to complex problems/challenges
  • Ability to manage competing priorities using sound engineering and financial judgement to determine optimal solutions
  • Computer literacy including SAP (Network Design tools/PPM/PM)
