Join our Environmental Team as a Project Assistant located in our Washington, D.C. office.
We are seeking candidates who are considering pursuing law school or a similar professional graduate program in the near future. This position requires a commitment of two years to GT, during which candidates will gain valuable experience and insight into the legal profession.
This role will be based in our Washington, D.C. office, on an in-office basis. This role reports to the Assistant Director and Shareholder.
Position Summary
The Project Assistant will conduct scientific research, prepare technical documents, and assist the teams with discovery review and analysis. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to complex regulatory matters while gaining valuable experience in the legal field. Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed.
Key Responsibilities

Works directly with the Chemical Regulations team on a range of projects including pesticides, general chemicals regulation, and consumer products in the US, US states, and EU

Performs scientific and regulatory research such as literature searches and mining dockets

Develops documents of a technical nature pertaining to chemical regulations

Conducts review of incoming discovery and provides analysis as requested by case team

Assists with practice department activities/project work assignments as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education & Prior Experience

Bachelor of Science degree, preferably in biology, chemistry, or a related field

Strong desire to work in the legal or regulatory profession

Knowledge of basic research tools and ability to leverage those skills
Technology

Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly

Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Experience with Microsoft Access is a plus
The expected pay range for this position is:
$27.50 to $32.38 per hour
Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
