The Detroit Plant Manager is seeking a highly capable, organized, flexible and motivated individual for the role of Support Manager. The primary objective of this role is to support the Plant Manager’s mission and strategic initiatives, while leading projects, serving as a confidant, assisting with day-to-day operations and anticipating needs. Responsible for campus communications, events, and maintaining rhythm of business for Detroit’s Plant Committee Members. The ideal candidate will be independent and able to exercise good judgement, while working in a fast-paced, global, and multi-cultural environment.

Position offers a starting salary range of $128,000 – $164,000 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What You Drive at DTNA
- Oversee strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of senior leadership and departmental heads.
- Assist and communicate with executives in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation.
- Review, design, and execute on improvements to org structure, find knowledge and skills gaps and help address them.
- Improve current processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity.
- Serve as liaison between staff, executives, senior leaders, regarding company climate, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning.
- Oversee daily operations through collaboration with senior management and department leaders, performing an array of administrative tasks from managing calendars, generating correspondence, maintaining hard copy and electronic files, planning and coordinating annual corporate meetings.
- Build and develop relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and effective responsiveness into existing operations, and help to define new operational strategies, working with executives on special projects.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, handling inquiries and developing action plans to address them, and assisting with the preparation and dissemination of communications.
- Organize and prepare content according to agenda for Executive level meetings e.g. TT/O BizRev, GPO BizRev, & Plant Committee Member Meetings.
- Lead or participate in strategic project initiatives for Global Powersystem Operations or Detroit.
- Prepare communication for public events such as town halls, community recognition, or external speaking events.
- Organize special event tours for both internal and external visitors.
- Interface for internal and external audits.
- Effectively apply Practical Problem Solving (PPS) and problem solving methodologies to ensure long term sustained countermeasures.
- Create, organize, and maintain tactical implementation plans (TIPS) as required.
- Support in establishing and reporting inventory KPI’s for the department.
- Keep current of technological developments in the industry.

Knowledge You Should Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and 6 years of relevant experience
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical aptitude and approach
- 4+ years demonstrated success managing projects
- Proven ability to analyze current processes, identify, and implement solutions
- Well organized and able to manage multiple planning/implementation activities simultaneously
- Experience with data analysis
- Experience with budget management
- Nimble business mind with a focus on developing creative solutions
- Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on interdepartmental communication
- Must have Proficient PC skills Microsoft Office Excel, Access, PowerPoint, & Word
- Ability to travel 10%
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
- 8+ years of relevant experience preferred
- Lean Manufacturing Experience (TPS, TOS, TOS+, & E2E)
- Systems knowledge – DIBS, PTSI, Plant Floor Applications
- Consulting experience with a focus on operations management
