The Role
The Program Manager, Visual Merchandising will have overall responsibility for the execution and performance of the visual merchandising function within Afterpay. The overarching objective of the role is to grow usage of Afterpay in-store, and you will be responsible for managing and enhancing Afterpay's in-store brand presence across a vast network of shop fronts. This role involves working cross-functionally to identify and execute commercial opportunities to grow VM adoption, and owning the VM logistics program. Additionally, you will own the measurement initiatives to assess the impact of VM programs, and effectively allocate resources, as well as developing programs of work to incentivise the adoption of Afterpay VM amongst our merchant base.
You Will

  • Overall responsibility for the operation and performance of Afterpay's visual merchandising function
  • Strategically develop and implement commercial programs, including merchant incentive initiatives, to drive VM adoption, ensuring alignment with business goals and measurable outcomes
  • Participate in merchant acquisition and growth discussions to sell the value of VM to merchant partners, collaborate on logistics and support
  • Work with sales and relationship management teams to identify key VM opportunities, develop and execute plans to increase adoption of VM assets
  • Develop and own a robust measurement framework, in collaboration with analytics teams, to assess the ROI of VM initiatives, track key performance metrics, and provide data-driven recommendations for resource allocation and program optimisation
  • Own the evolution of Afterpay's VM assets and creative to suit new and emerging verticals
  • Ensure a strong ongoing in-store brand presence through programs for continued update VM across Afterpay's network of 100k+ shop fronts
  • Own and optimise the VM logistics program to ensure seamless and cost-effective delivery, installation, and maintenance of visual merchandising assets, focusing on operational efficiency and scalable processes
  • Collaborate with internal creative and external suppliers to innovate and enhance VM formats and design, focusing on measurable impact on brand visibility
  • Own relationships with key suppliers in Australia and New Zealand, including print houses, distribution centres, and field team agencies, and ensure the efficient running of the VM program through effective supplier management


You Have

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in program management role, ideally with exposure to retail or visual merchandising
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale programs and working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong understanding of visual merchandising principles and in-store marketing strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience in budget management and cost control
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to derive actionable insights from data
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and detail-oriente
