About the role:
Join Takeda as a Program Manager, Oncology located in Cambridge, MA. As the Program Manager, Oncology, you will report to Head of USMAO Medical Affairs Operations and Field Excellence. The Program Manager for US Medical Affairs Oncology (USMAO) will play a critical role in supporting multiple brand medical strategies in ensuring cross-functional team effectiveness and managing complex, business critical projects that impact the US Oncology Business Unit (USOBU). This person will apply an understanding of program strategies and tactics in order to manage priorities, track key projects, build relationships with key stakeholders, and identify gaps and synergies. This individual will work closely with USMAO leadership across both in-house and field medical to ensure clarity of strategy/priorities, perform change and risk management, and facilitate communication across all parties. In addition, this role will contribute to the development of project management standards and best practices across therapeutic areas by collaborating with other program management functions.
How you will contribute:

  • Project and Program Support: Apply advanced project management, skills and experience and serve as a point for team members, manage program efforts of USMAO therapeutic areas. Support the medical leads of the oncology programs to provide support for budget planning and process management guidance; review and oversee overall project progress, ensure prioritization, and monitor goals/key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide strategic feedback and proactive updates to the individual members and/or USMAO Oncology Leadership Team (OLT) when necessary. Anticipate program issues that require action, alignment, escalation, and/or discussions regarding dependencies, risks, and information-sharing and ensure compliance to appropriate SOPs and guidelines.
  • Strategic Medical Planning Support: Collect and analyze data to be used in the strategic medical planning process, including development of annual brand strategy and tactical plans and mid-year check-ins. Assist in planning key activities, roles/responsibilities, milestones, timelines, dependencies, potential risks, and budgets. Collaborate with cross-organizational stakeholders to ensure alignment in the process and approach (i.e. Finance, Global Medical Affairs Oncology). Identify opportunities to improve, accelerate, or expand projects and project execution where possible while maintaining high quality standards. Display strong logistical and analytical skills and ability to manage activities across multiple high-priority activities.
  • Meeting management/communication: Facilitate meeting management to enable key discussions and decisions within the team, from agenda development through meeting minutes and action items issuance. Manage overall program communications and SharePoint/Microsoft teams sites.
  • Operational Excellence: Proactively engage the broader Takeda organization and liaise with Project Management counterparts to drive the rigor with which USMAO manage programs, identify project management process and/or tools to promote best practices across the USOBU.


Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of project management experience on cross-functional projects in a healthcare environment or High School Diploma/GED and 8 years of project management experience on cross-functional projects in a healthcare environment
  • Ability to travel to various meetings, including overnight trips
  • US travel requirements up to 15%


Preferred:

  • Oncology experience
  • Finance experience/background
  • Project Management Professional certification


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong communications skills - written and verbal
  • Experience and understanding of Pharma industry
  • Demonstrated success working within matrix teams, influencing outcomes and key project decisions
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and aware of larger business needs/implications
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and interdependently in cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate business processes and solutions in person and over webex

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$86,500.00 - $135,960.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
