Safety at Chewy is Paramount. Our Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) mission focuses on providing tools, resources, and environments that support safe, efficient, healthy behaviors and proactively encourages team members to manage their health and well-being.
Chewy is looking for an experienced Program Manager, EHS to help fulfill this mission. The Program Manager role will be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. You will lead and manage projects related to EHS, such as risk assessments, incident investigations, training programs, and sustainability initiatives. The position involves collaborating with stakeholders within the Asset Risk Operations organization and cross-functional teams across different Chewy businesses to oversee EHS deliverables within Core, Rx, and CVC. The successful candidate will provide technical and tactical leadership to support the EHS teams in meeting their objectives.
What you’ll do but not limited to
- Project Management:
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members.
- Monitor project progress and address any issues or risks.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the desired quality standards.
- EHS Program Development:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify EHS needs and develop effective programs.
- Implement and manage EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Risk Management:
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
- Implement risk management controls and monitor their effectiveness.
- Incident Management:
- Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and prevent future occurrences.
- Develop corrective action plans and implement preventive measures.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance EHS performance.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
What you’ll need
- Strong project management skills, including experience with project management tools (i.e., Asana, SmartSheet).
- Knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams.
Bonus
- Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Safety Management, Environmental Sciences, Project Management or related field.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA).
- PMP Certification or related Project Management certifications.
